The UCLA Graduate Division and Graduate Student Association have organized the Grad Slam competition the last two years. The Grad Slam is a campus-wide competition that showcases graduate student research and awards the best 3-minute research presentations by graduate students.
Let’s face it! If we have convince an investor to finance our research or a politician to do something about climate change, we won’t have unlimited time to explain our beautiful research and its importance. So, we need to be able to talk about our work and why it is important in 3 minutes or less!
David- 2017 AOS has another finalist!
Interested? We’ll definitely support you!
Rose-2016 Remarkable participation!
2016, our very own AOS grad student, Rose Tseng, participated in the Grad Slam competition. About 100 UCLA grad students from departments across campus competed in this year’s Grad Slam. Rose’s great work and amazing presentation skills earned her a spot in the final Grad Slam competition! She was recognized as one of the ten best students in the Grad Slam! Rose did an amazing job of humanizing her research and engaging people to it.
We want to congratulate Rose for such amazing job and encourage the rest of the students to join this great event next year!!!
